ลักษณะทางจุลพยาธิวิทยาที่กำลังขยายต่ำ จะเห็นว่าประกอบด้วย 2 ส่วนคือ ductal epithelium และ lymphoid tissue โดยจะเห็น cystic space มีส่วนยื่นคล้ายนิ้วมือเข้าไปใน cystic space สำหรับ epithelium ที่บุ cystic space จะเป็น ductal epithelial cell 2 ชั้น ซึ่งล้อมรอบด้วย lymphoid tissue
